ROW-5 Logistical Information
Venue
The ROW-5 meeting will be held at Costanoa Lodge and Retreat on California' Pacific coast between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. The site is a spectacular meadow between the ocean and the redwood-studded coastal mountains. It is located on property adjacent to Pt. Ano Nuevo State Park. Ample hiking and other outdoor activities are accessible from the site. A tour to nearby HF radar sites will incorporated into the meeting.
Housing Options and Meeting Costs
The Costanoa retreat was built in 1999. It has a range of lodging options available and ROW-5 has a block of rooms reserved that span these options. In addition, meeting participants can choose from the options outside the main block of rooms.
How to Reserve Your Lodging
All room reservations for ROW-5 must be made and paid for directly with Costanoa. The meeting registration fee, which will be collected by the meeting secretary before or during the workshop, will cover the costs of meeting facilities, meals, coffee breaks, and group tours.
To book a room, please telephone Chelsea Edwards-Sales Coordinator, toll
free at: 877-262-7848 x7406. Be sure to indicate that you will be part of the radiowave oceanography workshop (ROW-5).
The lodging options and costs in the ROW-5 room block are as follows:
| Room type | Daily Room Rate | Number Available* |
| Lodge Premium (1 bed) | $215 | ** |
| Lodge Double (2 beds) | $200 | 5 |
| Cabin Double (2 beds) | 150 | 5 |

A Note about Double Occupancy Options
To conserve costs, participants have the option to share rooms. However, both the number and types of rooms available with two separate beds are limited. All of the available double bed options in the main lodge and the main cabins (5 each) have been reserved for ROW-5. Other options, except for the Pine Village Tent Bungalows, contain one bed only.
Only the lodge rooms have bathrooms in each room. All other rooms have shared comfort center facilities, which are very luxurious but detached. These are described on the Costanoa web site.
The double-occupancy rooms in the lodge and nearby cabins will be available to the first 20 participants who register for the meeting. If you would like to share one of these rooms, and you do not already have a meeting partner, please send an email to Jeff Paduan noting your roommate preference.
Traveling to Costanoa
Directions to reach the meeting site are given on the Costanoa web site. There is no public transportation available to reach the site. By car, the site is about 1 hour from either of the major airports in San Francisco (SFO) or San Jose (SJC).
If you are having trouble arranging for a rental car or a shared ride, please send email to Jeff Paduan noting your arrival and departure information. If necessary, shared van transportation can be arranged.
